The National GRACE Foundation provides FREE college admissions and financial aid counseling to pediatric cancer patients and survivors.

The RIde Against Cancer -The National GRACE Foundation's RIde Against Cancer will raise funds for Hasbro Childrens Hospital, The National GRACE Foundation and the Isabel Helen Farnum Scholarship.  This event will take place on September 21!

The RIde course will be a scenic bike ride through southwestern RI consisting of two options; a 61 mile route as well as a 32 mile route.

The Isabel Helen Farnum Scholarship- Susan Farnum, GRACE Board Member will be running in the Cox Providence (RI) Marathon on May 12th, 2013 to raise funds for the Isabel Helen Farnum Scholarship Fund in memory of her daughter Isabel who passed away on May 11, 2012.  Please help us raise funds for this much needed scholarship fund.  Our goal is to raise $5,000 in order to support a pediatric cancer survivor/fighter in their pursuit of a college ducation.  For more information and to donate to this fund, please go to Isabel Helen Farnum Scholarship.



Juniors and Rising Seniors!
We are pleased to announce that Student Aid Services is offering its valuable service – the personalized College Cost & Planning Report®  – free to our families.  This report compares an individual’s eligibility for institutional, state and federal financial aid and calculates a reliable estimate of their out-of-pocket costs, based on each student’s specific financial and academic circumstances. Each custom report is a graphical workbook that provides detailed, comparative information about 10 colleges of a student’s choice. Besides a personalized, side-by-side comparison of each school’s cost, Student Aid Services’ College Cost & Planning Report® profiles each college, providing often hard-to-find information that influences student choice, including graduation rates, retention rates, and the rate at which a college’s cost have increased.  This is ideal for a current High School Juniors or rising Seniors!  Contact us for more details!

Financial Aid Sense: A Practical Guide - Jan Combs has written a practical guide to understanding financial aid.  This is a useful tool for anyone interested in the financial aid process.  In addition, fifty percent (50%) of net revenues from this book go directly to support our foundation’s mission of providing free college admission and financial aid counseling services to pediatric cancer patients and their families.

Applying to and paying for college can be a challenge for many families.  Countless studies, including those of the College Board (check it out on News and Events page), indicate the  financial aid process is too confusing.  Imagine trying to navigate this while dealing with issues related to cancer. 


According to the Pediatric Cancer Foundation: 
  • Each year in the U.S., approximately 12,500 children and adolescents are diagnosed with cancer. 
  • Today, nearly 80 percent of children diagnosed with cancer become long-term survivors and the majority of them are considered cured. That is up from approximately 58% just  20 years ago.
  • One out of every 300 children in America will develop cancer before their 20th birthday.

According to Teens Living With Cancer, there are approximately 15,000 teenagers each year who are treated for cancer.  As a parent of a child with cancer, I know that all of your energy and resources go to making sure your child gets the help and assistance that he/she needs.  One has very little time to focus on other issues.

The National GRACE Foundation exists to assist, counsel and advise families on matters pertaining to the admission and financial aid process.
